Overview

The Kalopanayiotis Cultural Centre was founded in 1991. The aim of the establishment of the Centre is mainly the development and promotion of cultural activities aimed at the cultural and touristic upgrading of the community of Kalopanayoti. In this field it has been active continuously every year since the day of its foundation. It ensures the organization of activities and events aimed at educating and/or entertaining the public. It promotes the culture, history, tradition and natural beauty of the Marathassa region through photographic competitions, exhibitions, reports, publications and cultural events. Since November 2009, the Centre has been housed in the restored house of Laurentius, which is located opposite the monastery of Agios Ioannis Lampadistis. The premises of the Center include the Museum of the Ethnomartyr Metropolitan Laurentius of Kyrenia, exhibition and conference rooms, an information, promotion and distribution center for photographs, paintings, books and traditional products under the name "Myrianthousis Souvenirs".
